The worlds of LHB

De la vue par la distance
et du toucher par la proximité

Viewing from a distance and getting close enough to touch

LHB plays with spectators, demanding that they come closer and then back up, or find the right distance themselves by ‘feeling their way’ as they observe.

Alain Renner, ancien vice-président de Sotheby’s France

« LHB achieves a renewed control in capturing light. She plays beautifully by partially decomposing the reality that she reconstructs through light.
“LHB achieves a renewed kind of control in the way she captures light. She performs magnificently, partially breaking down reality and recreating it through light. The irresistible strength of her painting lies in the way she plays with colours and light to go beyond the realism of details and return to a general kind of realism. We are fascinated by her work in two different ways. We go from one to the other, depending on how we feel,”

Les thématiques de LHB

LHB’s themes

“My artistic quest is to emotionally reconnect people with the natural world and their deep animal nature. The peak is the symbolic link reconnecting humanity with the planet.”

Laure has perfect control over the drawing she applies directly to the canvas. It is the power of the looks in the eyes of her subjects, whether animal or human, that best expresses this precision of gesture.
The next step involves the peaks, this extension of oil painting that she applies with passion and resilience in equal measure. Each square metre of canvas is covered by about 30,000 peaks, all made by hand. Each work requires between two weeks and three months of work. The drying time is about two months.
For Laure, beauty in art as in life is linked to time, devotion and harmony.

Le monde animal

Animals

Because of the fascination that animals exert on her, this is undoubtedly her favorite theme. Through her paintings, LHB offers an artistic journey to meet the incredible fauna of our planet. Her palette, colorful and diverse, brings together felines – tiger, cheetah, leopard and panther – with rhinoceros, elephant, bee and monkey, but also parrot and lion, dog and horses … What questions the most is the humanity carried in the strength of the gaze of the animals.

Végétaux et coraux

Plants and corals

LHB deliberately chooses to bring together corals and plants in a single theme that she could also have named « the bouquets of the planet ». The paintings encourage contemplation and serenity.

Les humains

Human beings

When she focuses on painting humans, she works on their portraits like those of her animals, whose power of gaze captures all of the attention. Is the artist trying to awaken the part of the hidden animal in each of us?

La planète

Planet Earth

All of Laure’s artistic work is centered around her personal commitment to the future of humanity through the preservation of the Ocean and the Earth.

Les sculptures PIC

Peak sculptures

The peak is the element that allows this emotional reconnection of humanity with the natural world and its deep animal nature.
This is the reason why, LHB decided to take it off the canvas, to individualize it and to present it as a work of art: the Peak Sculpture. It is considered by the artist as a talisman for living in harmony with nature.
